Who’s ready for another #FemaleFridays chat? My latest guest on the Female emPOWERED Podcast is Jennifer Maanavi, CEO and co-founder of Physique 57, an international boutique fitness studio and media business headquartered in New York City. Jennifer and I met in a mastermind together, and because she’s always inspired me, I couldn’t wait to have her as a guest on the podcast!
After opening two studio locations in New York, Physique 57 went down a business path that proved to be “one of the best decisions we’ve made,” as Jennifer put it. Rather than open more brick-and-mortar studios, they began making fitness DVDs in 2008 and 2009, which sold rapidly in all 50 states.
From there, Physique 57 opened more locations in Los Angeles and New York, and started consulting internationally. They also have offered video on-demand content for the past 8 years, as well as exclusive video content on Instagram. Since the spread of COVID-19, Physique 57 has hosted live virtual classes for members who miss the interaction of in person classes.
Jennifer has had such an inspiring and admirable career in the health and wellness space. For any women looking to forge their own path in fitness or health or wellness, she had this advice: employing and nurturing a diverse team is important. Not just teachers, trainers, or fitness professionals, but bookkeepers and cleaning staff and so on. Choose the people you work with wisely and care for them. That’s the key to success.
